Blake International Rigs, LLC and an unnamed operator have entered into a contract to mobilize the Blake Rig 1007 to a Spar located in the deepwater US Gulf of Mexico.  The initial contract term is for seven wells, which is scheduled to commence in Q4 2017. This initial term should keep the rig under contract into Q2 2019, and the operator retains the right to any option wells.  The Blake Rig 1007 is currently located at Blake’s Houma facility where it will begin making ready for the project.

“Our Blake Rig 1007 was built in 2011 for operations on a deepwater TLP and we are grateful to be working again in this region for years to come”, says Beau Blake, President and CEO of Blake International Rigs, LLC.  “This contract further strengthens our position in the US Gulf of Mexico; and it also serves as an indicator that the deepwater Gulf of Mexico is still an attractive and economical basin for oil companies and service companies alike.”

The Blake Rig 1007 is a 1000 horse power self-erecting modular platform rig.  Blake International Rigs owns and operates a fleet of 10 Platform Rigs in the US and Mexico.
