HOUMA, LA- Blake International USA Rigs, LLC is pleased to announce it has started construction of its new DART (Dynamic Assist Rig Technology) kits. The DART kits will enable Blake to perform drilling and workover operations on deepwater spars and TLP's located in the US Gulf of Mexico and abroad. Rig Solutions of Houston, TX was awarded the contract and has begun construction after the research and development phase was completed. With this new addition to our fleet, Blake International will be able to further diversify its services and better meet the needs of its customers.
Blake International USA Rigs, LLC is pleased to report that as of May 8, 2010, the company has worked eighteen (18) consecutive months without a recordable incident. In addition, MMS has conducted twenty-five (25) consecutive inspections on our platform rigs operating in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico with zero (0) incidents of non compliance (INC'S).
We are also pleased to announce that Blake International USA Rigs, LLC is embarking on a three well program with Apache Corporation for the Blake 210, located at East Cameron 278C.
Blake International USA Rigs, LLC is pleased to report that as of April 12, 2010, we have worked seventeen (17) consecutive months (over 700,000 man-hours) without a recordable incident or spill and our last twenty-four (24) MMS inspections were INC free.
Blake International USA Rigs, LLC is pleased to announce that it's Rig 210 (650 hp self erecting platform unit) has been contracted to Apache Corporation for one, sixty days term with options at South Pass Block 62 "A". The rig is loading out now from the company's operations facility in Houma, LA.
In addition to the new contract for Rig 210, the company's Rig 14 (350 hp self erecting platform unit) which has been continually contracted to Apache Corporation since January 2009, has received a sixty day extension with options to extend starting January 18, 2010. Both Rig 14 and Rig 210 are contracted to Apache's Production Department.
Blake International Rig 1502 (1500 hp self erecting platform unit) is also contracted to Apache's Drilling Department and is currently working at South Pass Block 75 "A".
Blake International USA Rigs, LLC is pleased to report that as of August 31, 2009, the company has worked nine (9) consecutive months without a recordable incident. In addition, MMS has conducted fourteen (14) consecutive inspections on our platform rigs operating in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico with zero (0) incidents of non compliance (INC'S).
We are also pleased to announce that Blake International USA Rigs, LLC extends the platform rig Blake 14's contract with Apache Corporation another sixty (60) days, through November 19, 2009. Rig 14 is currently located at South Marsh Island 281-C.
May 23, 2009 marked the one-year anniversary for Blake International USA Rigs, LLC, which was formed when Michael E. Blake purchased the platform rig operation from Pride International as well as the 45-acre facility in Houma, LA for $66 million in cash. Blake International has benefited from a successful first year and looks forward to continuing to facilitate our clients with expertise, experience and success on all projects. Blake International will be persistent in forging forward to becoming the most preferred platform rig provider in the GOM and Mexico.
Blake International also recently opened a Sales & Marketing office in Houston, TX. The office is located at 1235 North Loop West, Suite 919 and will support the Corporate office and Operations facility office located in Houma, LA. Michael E. Blake (Owner and Chairman of the Board), Susan Rendino (Executive Assistant) and John Buckelew (VP Marketing U.S. and Mexico) will be operating out of this office. The opening of the Houston office will enable Blake International to be more accessible to our clients as we expand our platform rig operations into the deepwater development market. Blake International remains the only privately-held offshore platform rig provider in the United States and continues to grow and become more visible in the oil industry.
Blake International platform rig Blake 1005 has received a 146-day extension from Petroleso Mexicanos (PEMEX) that will keep the rig contracted with PEMEX through Sept. 9, 2009. Pride holds the PEMEX contract for this rig as it was under contract to PEMEX when Blake International USA Rigs, LLC bought the platform rig fleet from Pride International Inc. in May 2008. Blake International USA Rigs owns the rig, but Pride International and its subsidiary Seahawk manage the operations throughout the current contract term, including the new 146-day extension.
Blake platform rig Blake 1002 recently finished it's contract with PEMEX, contracted through Pride, and is now hot stacked at the Seyba Playa dock in Mexico. The rig will be demobilized to Houma, LA later this month and made available for work in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico or Internationally.
Blake 651 and Blake 1003 are both hot stacked in Houma. Blake International has also received a 90-day extension from Apache Corporation for platform rig Blake 14, keeping the rig contracted to July 2, 2009. Apache holds options for continued use of the rig thereafter. The rig is now drilling on West Delta Block 103 in approximately 213 feet of water.

Blake, has sold his ownership interests in Blake Offshore Holdings, parent company of Blake Offshore, along with Blake Drilling and Workover's interest in Blake Offshore to Avista Capital Partners. Mr. Blake has resigned from the Blake Offshore Board of Directors, along with his wife Ramona Blake and his son Michael E. Blake, Jr.
Mr. Blake will focus all of his attention on growing his newly acquired platform drilling company that he purchased from Pride International in mid 2008.

Blake International Rigs USA has closed on the asset purchase of Pride International's platform rig fleet including the 42 acre operations facility located in Houma, Louisiana. Blake will continue the ongoing operations of the rigs currently under contract in the US Gulf of Mexico as well as in Mexican waters with PEMEX. Contracts are being negotiated with various Operators that will utilize the rigs currently idle.
Blake has hired over 260 of the platform workforce employees both on and offshore to ensure an efficient transition of operations for its customers. Blake plans to expand its presence both domestically and abroad with the fabrication of deepwater "self-erecting" platform rigs designed for floating production structures located around the world.
